Using Elements from the Basic Toolbar
So let's get started! Here are a few features in the Basic toolbar. Remember: Just drag an element from the toolbar and drop it on the page!
Text Elements

Multiple ColumnsDrag the Multiple Columns element onto the page, then insert other picture, text, or multimedia elements inside it.

Hyperlinks
A hyperlink is text that, when clicked, takes the user to a new place within a Web site or perhaps even to a completely new site all together! Hyperlinks are a great way to connect students to other resources.

To insert a hyperlink, simply:

*NOTE: You may find it helpful to open a new browser window or tab to find the website you want linked. Then highlight the URL, right-click and select COPY. When you make the link, right-click again and select PASTE.

Linked Text Tip!
Programming code is hard at work behind the text that you see on the page. To avoid problems, enter your text first before you do anything fancy with text, hyperlinks, etc. Then
- ADD EXTRA SPACES AT THE ENDS OF LINES for a little padding, and
- HIGHLIGHT BACKWARDS, from right-to-left, before you add in hyperlinks, etc.
NOTE: I personally prefer to have links open in a new window, but that is completely up to you.
